It's Paige M*fckn Saunders
That's right you lucky things. Your friend and mine, Paige Saunders, has released this stormer of a video just in time to be able to say I told you so about the miserable and thoroughly deserved humiliation that was inflicted on the CAQ in the Quebec election tonight.
If you can bear a grudge half as well as I can, you'll remember that back in 2022 the CAQ their name to the long long list of political parties who've won on a promise to change the electoral system and then done the old switcheroo. I wanted to get this message out to all of you to pump up the views on this video, and make sure we could savour this moment of electoral justice together.
I don't have much time tonight so in lieu of any serious political analysis, I'm going to tell you a story about two curious cats. The cats in the picture above. Cats who your friend and mine, Paige Saunders, insists are identical. They are not. But they are brothers. One of them is ginger coloured. The other is more of a creamy colour. Anyway, one night long ago both cats were sitting in the bathroom while I was running a bath. The ginger coloured cat is the more outgoing of the two, and this evening he was especially curious about the full bathtub. I turned off the faucet. He hopped up on the rim of the tub, then carefully, ever so carefully he reached down with his little ginger coloured snout to sniff the surface of the water in that particular way cats have. Steadying himself with one paw on the slick inside surface of the tub he stretched out his neck closer, and closer, so close then all of a sudden he fell head first into the water, eyes wide with horror. For the briefest moment he churned furiously in the water, claws screeching on the enamel before finally extricating himself and dashing out of the bathroom soaking wet and ashamed. Meanwhile, the more creamy coloured cat had been watching the whole adventure and the shock of seeing his brother take a soaking peaked his curiosity. After a minute or so, he picked his way through the puddles on the floor hopped up on the rim of the tub, and began to carefully, ever so carefully reach down with his little snout to sniff the water surface. Steadying himself with a paw on the inside of the tub, he stretched out his more creamy coloured neck closer, and closer and in he went with a mighty splash just like his idiot brother.
And what's the moral of this story? Well, I suppose the ginger coloured cat is David Cameron, and the more creamy coloured cat is Danielle Smith. Smith saw everything that happened to Cameron but she's certain she can be the one to sniff the water's surface with her little snout without taking a bath.
I don't know. Maybe not my most profound thought but you got a cat picture and a killer video. Enjoy.
